The Black River FFA Chapter launched its Spring Judging season on March 2 by competing at the Marysville Judging Invitational. Chapter members participated in both the Poultry Evaluation and General Livestock competitions, putting their skills to the test against other FFA chapters across the state.
Poultry Evaluation Team Places 11th
The Poultry Evaluation event challenges students to expand their knowledge of poultry production, management, food safety, and product quality. Competitors completed a written exam, evaluated live birds for breeding and market purposes, and graded ready-to-cook poultry products. The Black River FFA Poultry Evaluation team had an impressive performance, earning an 11th place finish.

General Livestock Team Shows Strong Effort
In the General Livestock competition, members judged market and breeding classes for sheep, goats, swine, and beef cattle while also answering production-related questions and completing a market grid evaluation. The Black River FFA General Livestock team placed 37th overall.
