During the 97th National FFA Convention held in Indianapolis, Indiana, the Black River FFA Chapter brought a group of 11 students and 3 chaperones, including their advisor, Mrs. Howard. The group actively participated in various events, including the National FFA Quiz Invitational. The team consisting of Parker Broadsword, Rylee Howard, Addison Flynn, and Colton Roberts distinguished themselves by placing 11th in the nation in the quiz competition. Beyond the convention activities, students attended trade and career shows, which exposed them to a wide range of career paths in agriculture. The group also took the opportunity to tour several agribusinesses, including Ozark Fisheries, Beasley's Orchard, Lakeview Farms, Graminex, and Kelsay Farms. These tours provided valuable insights into agricultural production and management, reinforcing the practical applications of their studies. Throughout the event, students developed essential leadership skills and expanded their agricultural knowledge. This experience was not only educational but also inspiring, encouraging them to continue pursuing their goals within the field of agriculture.
