The Black River Academic Challenge team began its 2024-2025 season with practices in early September, and will continue to practice and compete until early May. Anyone is welcome to join the team by showing up at the Monday and Thursday afternoon practices. The team had an early competition round October 9th at the Channel 5 WEWS studios in Cleveland, taping a show for television broadcast in January. Black River competed against teams from Lake Center Christian Academy and Pymatuning Valley. Although the team had a shaky first round, they settled in and dominated the rest of the match. The team's next competition will be the Salem Invitational on November 9th. LC8 league play will not start until December, and Black River looks to defend its league title from last year.
