As the weather is changing I wanted to share Middle School guidelines for recess. If the weather is between 35 and 45 degrees, arms and legs must be covered. If the weather is between 20 and 35 degrees, arms and legs covered and an extra upper layer. If it is below 20 degrees, we will not go outside.

A message from Superintendent Clark:

As always, the health and safety of our students and staff remain our top priority. On December 10, 2023, school districts throughout Ohio received a series of emails allegedly from a Russian terrorist organization, threatening violence with explosive devices in multiple Ohio schools. The Black River administration team promptly conducted a thorough examination of district emails and servers, confirming that our district was not among those targeted. These threats mirror similar incidents that occurred in Texas school districts last Friday, which were investigated and found to be non-credible. According to assessments from the Ohio Homeland Security (OHS)/Terrorism Analysis Unit (TAU) and the Statewide Terrorism Analysis & Crime Center (STACC), the emails appear to be part of a swatting campaign or hoaxes, with no credible threat detected. If families or students have concerns about a potential threat at any time, we encourage them to report all concerns to local law enforcement. Our school counselors and administrators will be available if you or your child have concerns or need support. Thank you for your continued support in providing a safe learning environment for our students. Sincerely, Chris A. Clark Superintendent
Congratulations to these hardworking students who achieved honor roll not once, not twice, but THREE times out of four grading periods during the 2022-23 school year! Way to go above and beyond Pirates! 🎉

What does great group work look like in math class? These Black River middle schoolers came to the conclusion that groups work best when they work together as a team, are kind to each other, listen to one another, respect all ideas in the group, stay on task and solve problems together! How are you practicing teamwork today?
